being able to e.g. record myself fighting a boss, then replay it while i work on sounds or graphical effects is really helpful. the problem with this sorta thing is once you've had ~100ms iteration times, it's really hard to go back to traditional dev environments where you get _nothing_ '^^

currently setting about making myself a project template that covers all my typical bases: a basic window and input setup, asset manifests and loading, live coding, savestates (state snapshots), gameplay recording and replay (snapshots + input buffer), and a packager script for distribution.
