Once Hank got old enough to want to be a Big Boy, I would tease him by saying "you'll always be my beautiful baby boy" and he would cackle and protest. then one day recently he asked why I say that and I told him "because in my heart, some part of you will always be my baby" and he's stopped arguing
Show Posttoday in Dad Feelings: we've been sending Hank to daycare with the same backpack every day since he was 12 weeks old. this morning, it was retired in favor of a Big Boy backpack. extremely unfair to do this to me, personally, as he was so small not so long ago
