As someone whose only TV is over 15 years old, I had no idea newer TVs came with so much bloat and apparently ads that people are trying to hack away. I feel so powerful for having a piece of crap TV. This doesn't even have an option for motion smoothing.

I think many cinematographers know this, but a lot of directors might be shocked to see how much good lighting adds to something FEELING more "expensive" than the cameras and lenses do. And tbh you don't even need to spend that much money on lighting these days, relative to even 15 years ago.
Show PostI certainly believe viewers would happily accept less fidelity in exchange for more interesting art that exists longer and more often. I remember many years ago when we improved the lighting for TFS streams and people thought we'd upgraded the cameras, when all we did was light the set better.
