He'll be called up from the practice squad on Sunday and then most likely back on the 53 next week.
Show PostLike I would think he makes it above J Michael Sturdivant on cut down day, but is more expendable / loyal to the Packers during the season.
Show PostMelton was always in a nebulous position. An easy initial 53 roster lock (barring anything truly surprising), but not completely untouchable. He is like a step above Aaron Mosby
Show PostThere is no corresponding move though it does open a roster spot and give them the flexibility to add someone if they want. He's already back on the practice squad. (No waivers, he is indeed a vested vet) And now his salary is no longer guaranteed.
