they don't seem very keen on sharing the space with us if we can't have parties in our own rooms, outside, or even talk in the hallways without getting reprimanded. how is this fair?

Complete failure by both con and hotel management. Went from one of the most fun and vibrant cons to feeling utterly oppressive and suppressed. Unacceptable for an event based around being oneself and having a good time.

I know this is not your fault but the hotels fault but holy moly this was a bad oversight and ruined so many fun nights and potential memories by having police and security sweeping hallways and knocking on doors to check for parties that were too loud for wedding guest standards. Awful decision.

Room parties are a huge part of culture and cons would not be the same without them. Shutting them all down and getting the cops involved is insane. I understand this was probably an action by the hotel and not the convention but I have to think this was avoidable with better planning.
