Nice morning on Portland today and good to finally get my first ever Red Backed Shrike a juv in crown estate fields.Always distant though did start off as a speck, @philcheeseman.bsky.social & I watched it for ages working the hedge & brambles which was nice to see. #UKBirding #Dorsetbirds.

Potter around Otter NR this morning actually was quite chilly & odd spot of rain. 4 spoonbill on big marsh was best of it with these 2 havin a spoon on spoon squabble. Wigeon & teal numbers building up now. Also saw 22 cattle egret and 20 stock dove. #UKBirding #Devonbirds.

It's definitely summer on Patch at Walthamstow Wetlands with few birds moving, though it is nice enjoying our breeding birds. Best from recently includes 2 Redshank, Curlew Oystercatcher, LRP, 2 Coal Tit (very scarce here), Garden Warblers, Lesser Emperors, RV Darters, Scarce Chaser, Norfolk Hawkers

Had a brilliant trip to the French Alps last week. 5 lifers being Lammergeier, Common Rock Thrush, Alpine Chough, Alpine Accentor, and Rock Bunting. Plus, lots of stuff that I don't often see in the UK such as Alpine Swift, Crested Tit, Honey Buzzard, Golden Eagle, Water Pipit and stunning scenery!
