That’s why 37 years ago I started college, squirreled away money in savings and made my plans. Got my two little kids and myself out with one of ny friends driving an Uhaul and never looked back. It was hard to get back in school but I got grants,loans and got my nursing license! My kids-glad!

Then I would imagine people should say "Why didn't he just leave??" This was about "Why didn't SHE just leave?"I think you could start the male version on your timeline? It is probably more of a problem with women but can happen to men. I think most think "He's physically stronger then she is." tho.

"He will find me and kill me"; "He will take my children" Probably could go under threatening, I guess. I had a friend who desperately tried to leave her abusive boyfriend. When she did get away, he went to her job and killed her. It was what she always feared he would do.
