The "Ilford HP5 Plus" name is actually a clever bit of dry british wordplay: Ilford HP5 Plus = Ilford HIPPO (HP= HIPPO, 5 letters) Plus (+pottamus). Hippopotamus is british rhyming slang for koiropotamus, which is what the famous Ilford Feral Hog coat of arms is referencing. Trivia: there are 5 hogs
