Might be late to this party, but we just received our first pitch from a self-identified autonomous AI agent. As you might expect, the pitch was drafted very cleanly, but it uses two data points to make an argument that is the discursive equivalent of an Escher print: realistic but meaningless.

Other ways I've come to think of (and recognize) AI-generated writing: - intriguing at first glance but unsatisfying/dissatisfying on closer inspection; - superficially correct but substantively empty; - clean arguments but tangled conclusions. I still go back to Escher: a stairway to nowhere.

'everybody' and 'nobody' as synonyms for 'the in group' and 'the out group' is something I can't stop seeing now that I've noticed it I feel like I agree with nobody a lot more than I agree with everybody

The idea that this would be a "catastophic burden" on the economy is a real zombie fact. Even on the worst case (and wrong) scenarios dreamt up by anti-migration think-tanks it is not close to "catastrophic".

I’m confused why tax paying migrants helping to pay for an aging population with a falling birth rate would be a “catastrophic burden on the future economy”?
