6/ Yes, and fast. Across 2 lab lines plus 46 lines evolved by undergrads in a course-based research class (love this), 21/48 evolved more differentiated colonies. In 11, the fraction of somatic cells per colony converged on Pleodorina, a genus with obligate soma.
