There is a genuine problem for employers in that candidate use of AI means so many more applications to wade through and I agree with you we’re likely to have to roll back some tech advances to combat it (eg more in person interviews, which makes things harder for candidates) 1/2

AI is being heavily used in selection for apprenticeships and degree/apprenticeships as well as my son repeatedly found out this year. Utterly soul destroying for a 17 year old.

And it is no good arguing, as some have, that AI recruitment is less biased against minorities. If it throws out an application based on unknowable criteria, it’s biased. That argument will just feed the anti-woke brigade.
