It's weird to see takes around "Death of Robin Hood", that in the early ballads he was a common robber and a bad guy. "A Gest of Robyn Hode" (first printed ballad iirc) has the sad knight say "He is good yeoman../Of him I have heard much good." and Robin eventually pays the knight's huge debt off.
