My grievance lies in stereotypes, which these media illiterate buttheads keep indulging in! It’s obvious that it bothers me right to my soul, right? I hate it when illiterate morons are so determined to keep it up because that’s what really punishes a narrative. Not established character flaws.
Show PostWhat really bothers me is how loud these people are. Impressionable audiences are more likely to listen to the ignorant now instead of people who know what they’re talking about. Age doesn’t have to play a factor in this of course, but let’s be honest. It’s really affecting them the most.
Show PostIt’s ironic that I’m autistic, the type of person that people have said that can’t figure out media/social cues, and YET I can understand and have empathy for Stolas and his motivation. But I don’t necessarily agree with his actions because I’m a separate human being. Why is this hard for others?
Show PostI think it's important to understand that liking or cheering a character on does not automatically mean you agree to or condone their actions in real life. It just means that you understand why the character does something.
Show PostPart of good media literacy is seeing why someone would react or behave the way they do. That means you think outside yourself; it means putting yourself in someone else's shoes. Thus, empathy. Thus, you can find ways to relate. Thus, you may even discover things about yourself.
