BBC4 at 7.45pm tonight: a marvellous (and starry) performance of Curlew River from Blythburgh Church, staged by Deborah Warner as part of the 2024 Aldeburgh Festival. If you're unlucky you might see me slumped slug-like next to the catwalk. Best to pray they've used takes from the other performance.

Tonight I finally heard Ian Bostridge perform Die Winterreise, together with Ralf Gothóni on the piano at the Helsinki Seriös concert series. I had shivers down my spine during Der Leiermann. Ooh ❤️
