I shouldn't have. I really, really shouldn't have. It goes against the basic rules of librarianship. But I couldn't help it. There's a certain type of person who, when they ask if we have any books by Rush Limbaugh, makes me respond with, "Could you spell that? I'm not familiar with them."

nobody should own art, it's cultural theft, at best if I as a creator ever created anything of value, I'd want it handled in a trust by the government

What i'm saying is that if there was no copyright, you wouldn't have to worry about who owned anything because you could just do whatever you wanted with it? and like this helps proletarised artists. How many people in video games or comcis don't own their characters and cant work on them?

Oh, good the whole book piracy discourse is back, in which a bunch of people with no money argue about whether a bunch of other people with no money deserve to get paid for their labor or not while a few billionaires hoover up all the money from everybody's labor. Yay. Fun.
