In the Shadowrun universe, it’s explicit that older forms of prejudice have become largely a thing of the past because it’s been replaced by prejudice toward and between metahumans.

But we live in a cyberpunk dystopian now. We have the flock cameras and the ai bullshit and the drones and the government being run by three corporations in the trench coat. We have the extreme stratification between rich and poor.
Show Postthe biggest issue I have with basically every piece of modern revivalist cyberpunk media is they refuse to see that prejudice is linked with capitalism. There's usually a hand wave that there was a magical social progression that happened as the world fell first into internet driven dystopia.
