Social media and Internet culture too often desensitize us to the humans behind the screens. I wish I knew how to make it safer and kinder. And I wish the best for Goose. I owe her everything, and I’m in her corner if she needs me.
Show PostBeing online means you get a lot of vocal people who can say and do horrendous things behind a veil of anonymity, and with no consequences for causing harm. And the reality is, the Internet is NOT reality. It’s not even “most people”. It’s a tool - and a very flawed one.
Show PostBeing a part of a work like Digital Circus has been a crash course in accepting that not everyone will like me or the things I put out into the world. Some will not forgive my failures. That’s up to them. Some won’t enjoy my work. That’s fine. Some will hate just to hate, just because that’s “fun”.
Show PostI don’t know if my followers have noticed, but I’ve been scaling back my use of social media. Nobody was meant to be exposed to this many people all at once. For a person like myself who can be insecure after years of different traumas, it can be downright dangerous.
