A lovely day #fungifriends wandering midst waxcaps in the Peak District 🥰 Finally caught up with & smelt the Cedarwood Waxcap & my first time seeing Bitter. A good day, 12 species of waxcap seen in total & if the possible Splendid is confirmed 13, not bad at all! Early for #mushroommonday 🍄 📸

My best fungal find of the autumn so far: Devil's Fingers, Clathrus archeri. Also known as the Octopus Stinkhorn. Smells of rotten meat. The dog found it first. Raddington, West Somerset. #fungi #mycology

Just had my possible Splendid Waxcaps (right set of pics) confirmed which is exciting! Even more exciting the left pics which I identified as Scarlet (but weren’t quite right for) have now been identified as Hygrocybe neomarchii which is one I’d been wanting to see! 😀❤️ #fungifriends #mushroommonday
