How we talk to & behave toward ourselves determines whether & how our "parts" are or aren't willing to communicate & collaborate w/ us. "Self care" isn't a fluffy abstraction-- it is the cornerstone of the skillset we need to stay present, make good decisions, & stay safe.

Staying & playing small, as it turns out, does not guarantee our safety-- but it does eventually guarantee we won't express ourselves fully, explore our interests, talents, & needs fully, or create a life we will value in the long term. Hiding only keeps us "safe" for so long.
