@josetelesreis.bsky.socialFirst preprint from the lab, led by @gabbov.bsky.social! We identify a metabolic bottleneck that helps set the pace of human development: low levels of the redox enzyme GPD1L limit NADH recycling. Boosting GPD1L mimics mouse cells and accelerates development! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Show PostHow HOT is TOO HOT to work in lab? 33°C? 35°C? 37°C? Our aircon in the BDD @institutcurie.bsky.social , which hasn't worked well for years, is now dead. This is our "18°C" room for important fly stocks (now at 29°C!). It is 33°C in the labs today, and will only increase over the next 6 days!
Show Postdon't use it much- there is the one commonly used 9E10, if having trouble I would probably go for a purified one over the hybridoma supernant... Could try varying your 2nd antibody concentration (we used to do this for epitopes in yeast and it made a big difference per tagged protein). good luck
Show PostThe ab generated in Herranz et al, 2008. Either us or Gines Morata can send it to you upon request by email…
Show PostWe have been using the one from Gines Morata's lab (guinea pig one). It works like a jewel. We have been in touch recently with Angélica Cantarero (acantarero@cbm.csic.es) from Gines' lab for some more of it.
