The excuses for lack of representation for Congo and Sudan are endless and in those excuses I see many biases of said people. Palestine is important but so is Sudan and Congo. Include them in your advocacy. We’ve benefited from their suffering for far too long long with no recourse.
Show PostAmerica has taught us it’s ok to benefit in the midst of others suffering, it was built on others suffering to have the very systems we do so of course they won’t talk about Congo and majority won’t either.
Show PostThe west doesn’t want to talk about Congo due to I believe racism, how we view Congo and other African countries, and what we gain from them in terms of our tech among other things.
Show PostSharing video content is helpful however it has its drawbacks such as people readily sharing content without checking the source which could lead to potential misinformation or simply sharing to appear to care but doesn’t show that care offline.
Show PostAnother reason I heard was lack of video coverage as if books don’t exist for us to read on said exploitations? We rather consume video content and share it as it is easier than picking up a book and taken the time to read and educate ourselves on it.
