Man no one tells you that healing means you sort of grieve who you could have been without the trauma. So often we run away from that feeling too instead of sitting with it like a friend would. Just listening without judgement and being there, promising to not abandon ourselves.

every time my roommate's friends come over and say "oh your apartment is cute" she's like "well it's not *my* style......" like ? just say "thanks" ? you don't have to make it feel like a dig *at me* (person who decorated the apartment and to whom almost all the furniture belongs) i am sitting here.
