I really want to stress “non-consensual” here, because I think it is important. AI on its own has no agency or volition; the decision to set it loose on these mathematical problems was taken by individual people. And they did so with no regard for the wishes of the practitioners in the field -

"If the paper is subpar, you reject it." That was true before LLMs, that's still true after! Let's not lower the bar (all the more when people and companies are claiming LLMs help doing a better job).
