My neighbour George died recently. From the moment I moved in, 16 years ago, to the day he died we didn't speak once, no animosity, just the way we liked it. His sister let me have a look around his house. Turns out George and I shared the exact same set of interests. Damn.

Lost a good friend to sourdough. He used to be interesting and wide-ranging, now all he talks about is his sourdough process and something called leven / levan / whatever. He's now a frightful bore and I can't suffer another conversation with him.
