The low res versions that show up before the game brings the res up? Yeah, they're not in 21:9, but the look wider than 16:9. Makes me wonder if the game is rendering those in real time too, just at a lower res before it pushes the res back up.

No, the smaller versions are bitmaps you can see in the "fallbacks" directory in the game's files. Still, pretty neat.
