My understanding is that to be the head football coach, not only do you have to be LDS, but you have to be a temple recommend holder. Like, ACTUALLY LDS. Church officials will be a part of the formal interview process.

I’m not a coach hire newsbreaker and I don’t know how this story ends, but I’ve talked to enough people I trust over the last 24 hours to believe the kalani sitake / penn state chatter is not just message board fodder. There’s legitimate smoke.

In FBS? Coach Ken at SJSU, Whitt at Utah, and Bronco at Utah State. One of the Big Sky Utah teams might have an LDS guy in charge that I don't know about. Other than a few NFL people who won't take the job, that's almost the list. I'd expect BYU to promote an assistant currently on the staff
