"AI can't create anything new because it just blends existing discoveries" well 1. practically this is not true, the entire math community is dealing with a crisis of AI competently making discoveries 2. I don't think our set of discovered work is convex, "just blending" can still go to new places

it really does feel like they just got away with unprecedented amount of theft of expertise, and are now profiting off of it while replacing the professional opportunities for the very crafts and humans it trained on I never thought I would see the concept of expertise get so devalued

I know it's been said a million times but the fact that this guy handily beat every other republican in the primaries twice is a real mask off moment for the right in the united states. And any minorities voting for him are 100% working against their own interests
