It wasn't a recovery mode its the way thsy flash the firmware in the factory aswell. We have the files from the factory with the manual litterally showing the workers where to place the magnet for the Nitro Boot cartridge to execute
Show PostI was just the person with the Factory hardware and a few Wii Us to test. With the discovery of the Paid the Beak exploit at the same time we were finally able to run custom code on a stock Wii U.
Show PostPicture from the time we (People more intelligent than me) figured out how Nintendo was flashing the firmware to Wii Us in the factory by sending a special rhythm of voltage through the Battery Connector which put the console into a special mode reading the firmware from the SD card port.
