The building burned in 1812 is the Executive Mansion, completely unaffected by these renovations. And the existing interior of the Executive Mansion was completed destroyed by Truman and reconstructed because the building was literally falling down.
Show PostNo, the majority of the Christmas decorations are in the Executive Mansion, which is completely unaffected by the work in the East Wing. The East wing is primarily nondescript office space.
