This post reminds me of when I went to look up how much the likes of Franklin Booth and Dana Gibson were paid and I had a melt down. Charles Dana Gibson was offered a contract in 1904 by Collier's Weekly to produce 100 pictures a year for $1,000 each. $1k adjusted for inflation is $24k.
