Thank you. I WAS but there was also a bubbling up of anger which blindsided me. He was put in bottom sets in secondary school at one point. I wanted to shout ‘I told you so!’ from the rooftops. However, to paraphrase Carrie Fisher, resentment is like swallowing poison and hoping someone else dies.

Indeed. My ‘little one’ did find his people at college and just got a first, so has done well despite the agonies of school. My goodness, it’s been a rocky old road.

This! I literally was told to send kids who hadn't been attending home again cos they when they did attend they did it in incorrect uniform or attended and then needed time out. I had to bite my lip to not tell the parents "they are forcing me to do this". Just the wrong approach to attendance.
