in the same campaign, the party were bogged down fighting a bunch of dwarves. @phantom-limbs.bsky.social, exasperated: "i wish these dwarves didn't have shields!" thus all dwarves forever lost the ability to use shields

Maybe not exactly what you had in mind, but I've imagined what a console shooter where m+k style twitch/precision aim is not the focus, and the game is designed around that. Halo kind of sidesteps the problem with extreme sticky aim. But I'm interested in this design space.
