It's very expensive, traffic is insane, some hikes have become so overpopulated they're like standing in an uphill line for an amusement park. There's not a whole lot of nightlife. If you can work from home or live away from the city, maybe. But even then, rent prices are bonkers.

While the Seattle-Bellevue metro area is very expensive and congested, there are more affordable places accessible by bus, train, or ferry. We moved to Bremerton last year. My husband takes a 30 minute fast ferry to downtown Seattle. You can get a 2 bed house for $250-300K and rent starts around $1K
