For three + years, teachers, writers, artists, humanities professors and so many others have been arguing exactly this--that this technology only produces an endless ouroboros of bland, sad, grey slop. But we were told that we were/are luddites, reactionary, old-fashioned, angry, etc etc.

True also for writing. I keep hearing "but not all friction is good" and of course that's true too. But figuring things out, whether it's what you think, what you want to make, who you want to be, all of that requires friction and it is what these products promise to take away, leaving...what?
