It's a worthy goal but not practical everywhere. On the west of Scotland where I am, it rains literally half the year, is often windy off the Atlantic and is not exactly flat

@brenttoderian.bsky.social There’s the infrastructure for it though. I used to cycle everywhere, then when we moved to Dublin I gave up after being knocked off my bike a few times by people opening car doors etc. The UK isn’t much better: very few dedicated cycle paths
