Once a year a rant about Episode 9 erupts from my body uncontrollably.
Show Post"But [insert movie here] filmed without a finished script and it was great!" Yeah and some people survive car crashes, but I don't recommend being in one.
Show PostAnd this isn't conjecture, to be clear. It's been spoken about pretty openly, the scrapped nearly everything from Trevorrow's pass and started over with way too little pre-production time. As a general rule if you're having to finish the script while you're filming, you're in a bad place.
Show PostIt's funny he gets set in 7, 8 cements he won't be a Vader retread to challenge the notion that SW doesn't regurgitates its own plot beats, and 9 then regurgitates it's own plot beats. The criticism lobbed at the films should not be as simple as narrative cohesion but failure of mangement.
Show PostEvery fan pitch for Star Wars stuff is like the worst possible version of what Filoni does lol "Episode 9 should have had the Son of Mortis as the villain!" Or, hear me out: they could have just used Kylo Ren as the villain. You know, the character who was actually set up to fill that role.
