I do also think Biden personally being committed to trans rights (absolutely more so than Corbyn, probably than Miliband) and /being in government/ (both as VP and President) probably had more impact than people realise

what’s fascinating here is that people in matt’s replies are insisting that $30k is life-changing because it would significantly improve *their* *current* living conditions. and matt is saying “that doesn’t change people’s lives long term” and nobody seems to understand him

It's important to understand this stuff and make sure we are creating programs that will make people lives better. People who are not doing this work, but are having fun doing silly QT dunks are the ones treating it like a game.
