@stripplab.bsky.socialGood morning Pere!! a) yes (showing NA is different and somewhat simpler...) b) mostly category, bar, boxplot,... where we usually encode by length. (if line goes to zero we can follow it visually...) Good point abut the y-axis and yes, this applies only for pos-values. What is your suggestion?
Show PostI think it depends a lot on two things: a) is there an actual measurement there? And b) the kind of chart. I would argue against Y axis staying below zero for some charts (especially if the data values cannot go below zero, e.g. in a bar chart).
Show PostThat is my recommendation so fat... but is that really the best we got? Still will have *almost* no dimension. Imagine is it your main result! A full rescue of a mutant, no offtargets, a patient with no minimal residual disease!... you want to celebrate :)
Show PostSome papers are particularly special, and this is one of them! Excited to share our latest work on nitrogenase, exploring how nature has intricately designed its active site. Congratulations to Guru, Serena and my PhD student, and the entire team! pubs.acs.org/jacsat/artic...
Show PostSuggestions! I have not found many articles (DVS or scholar) on "How to best visualize zero" - a quantity with no dimension. Missing values, yes. See chart below, we do not like the 3D effect, or the annotation? But what is the recommendation? #DataViz 📊 #DataFam
