Dog who a) knows where his biscuit box is (to our right) b) can count (he gets one as I put the kettle on and a second when I pour coffee c) thinks I take too long between these events Brewing time for coffee means nothing. Subtitles would be; it's there! it's UP THERE! THERE! <boop> THERE...
Show PostBack to the book. And I’ll now be forever grateful to the wonderful @claireboardman.bsky.social and @sarahmiles.bsky.social for so professionally transcribing Maud Cunnington’s 1932 presidential address to the Wiltshire Archaeology and NH Society, from some very oddly copied microfiche files! 👏🏼👏🏼
Show PostIt’s ~3000 words long and demonstrates her scope, not only as the natural inheritor of Pitt Rivers’ fieldworker title, but of her national grasp of the field. Without doubt she should have been one of our first academics in Iron Age studies (if it had been possible, and she’d have wanted to, etc.)
Show PostIt’s important I think to know that these academic women were there, across the whole span of the 20th century, these ‘Professors interrupted’ like Maud Cunnington and Peggy Piggott, who never gained their correct title. Despite demonstrably outclassing their peers.
Show PostLife in 2026 is just endless 'hope you realise on time that a company is somehow monetising your existence and hides it'. Really not a good step in the whole 'we need to find trust in society to survive' thingy.
