@yscrugby.bsky.social@yscrugby.bsky.social → @yscrugby.comA (rather general) sidenote re your Point 1--What if sending players overseas helps to establish the structure? There's no structure (sometimes at all) in many T2 countries. (I understand that Canada are not exactly a T2 country).
Show Post1. Sending you players to go and play in someone else’s structure is not creating your own structure 2. Literally 100% of England players play in the pwr. If the pwr really is why Canada are so good, why is the pwr producing better canadians than English players?
Show PostAlso i take issue with this section: “there are also structural elements that Canada have right… players have been gaining experience in England's PWR… giving Rouet's players a level of training and match experience they cannot find anywhere else.” My issues with this is two fold:
Show PostNot the best article from the BBC, in my personal opinion. No real analysis of either on field tactics or off field structural changes. Suggests not beating England sooner is due to previous underperformance rather than England getting worse/stagnating
Show PostIf you will allow me to sport post: The Red Rose had a winning streak spanning 39 straight matches (going all the way back to a World Cup final in 2021). Three weeks ago the semi-professional Canadian team drew with them. This weekend Canada ended England's 41 game unbeaten streak in a thriller.
