my friend Cat (@hinerdsitscat.bsky.social) went to hs (I think?) with J and sent this to me 10yrs ago when she was one of maybe three or four people who knew I was trans it eased some of my biggest babytrans anxieties about whether I was doing transness “right” and I’ll always treasure it for that

Saying goodbye to this faithful companion today, and I'm devastated. This is going to be a year of immense changes for my family, and even when they're the right thing to do, it will still be very hard.
