It's also the fact that our politicians and the likes of Rupert Murdock's Fox News constantly lie to and deceive the public. In my opinion, 1st Amendment should not give the right for lies and deceit to unjustly arm someone and the public, especially from an influencer.

Fear, mostly. They're taught from birth that it's everyone for themselves and nobody will ever help them. They don't have community to fall back on. When they fall, they have to beg for soup and people will deny them shelter or even a park bench. The privileged spin it as self reliance.
