I think one of the reasons I'm so frustrated about the discourse on here about AI is because AI regulation and policy is my actual day job. It's what I spend a significant amount of my time thinking about. How do we regulate AI and mitigate harm. Trans advocacy is what I do with my free time.

The tech still works though. Pretending that it doesn't or that you can avoid using it to make it go away is a fool's errand. We need to organize to remove controlling power of AI from private hands, end the massive datacenter buildouts, and actually hold the misanthropic SV and VC execs accountable

Every time I post stuff about AI, I lose followers even when I'm neutral or critical of it. I could just easily say AI sucks and rake in the likes and followers but I don't because I think this site is burying its head in the sand and making the left unable to be taken seriously on regulating AI.
