and Bruce didn’t know me, but he still welcomed me in with the same kindness and openness he showed to everyone. That spirit shaped the way I think about science and mentorship, and I will carry it with me wherever science takes me. 2/2

Rounding off AY25-26 with many highlights including 3 Lee Lab graduates, a terrific undergrad research CURE class, and my MS student winning a Best Poster award at a conference! Also got to serve on a career panel with a Nobelist who was supportive and encouraging of our student-powered research. 🙏

Another former UCSF student does good! Elly was in Marc Kirschner’s lab in our Dept. She was part of a memorable band that played at the skits at the annual retreat at Asilomar.
