Same. Same same same. The reason I went to college 2,000 miles away is the same reason we don’t hang out now. We have very little in common beyond DNA. I call on holidays to be polite and allow the kids to have a grandparent, but that’s about it.

Just my 2 cents but I've got a very bad relationship with both parents. Nothing to do with politics, entirely to do with their various and sundry narcissistic and selfish behavior. And it's fine. It's made my life easier and less stressful on net. I don't understand what the big deal is.
