Chalice polishing always reminds me of a retreat house where they only had glass vessels for Mass. One of our friars refused what he called the "Nestorian glassware." He went and dug an old, dirty, but proper chalice out of a closet, and stayed up half the night gently cleaning it with toothpaste.
