Exciting times at Clifford hill GP when I discovered the first American passerine for Northants, American Buff-bellied Pipit, as something about this pipit looked strange. Probably my best bird find ever. Many happy birders today. Jack snipe was in the same area. #northantsbirds #ukbirding #PWC2026

Short detour on my commute home for the American Pipit at Clifford Hill. Flew off SW the second I got to the group of birders. “Crippling views” 5 minutes earlier. Why I generally don’t do much twitching…! Great find this morning by @tylapwing.bsky.social #northantsbirds

#Northantsbirds Stressful day at work, but what an evening, what a bird, some stunning views (eventually) of the American Pipit at Clifford Hill, an amazing find by Tyler👏, showing ridiculously well feeding on the shoreline😀; also Ringed Plover and 7 Gt Egret (no Twite among the Linnets, sadly).

#Northantsbirds Didn't envisage getting a soaking as we walked past Town Lake Thrapston today, but sheltering from the rain allowed me to grill c60 LbbGull, with at least 3 ad YL Gull among them. The drake RN Duck still on Heronry Lake, also cc Marsh Harrier, Dunlin, Goldeneye and 3-4 Stonechat🙂
