sRGB the data format, not sRGB the colour space. Huge mistake to name them the same thing, but here we are.

sRGB can refer to the full color space (gamut+transfer function+white point) or sometimes just the gamut. Huge source of confusion. To avoid this in our rendering engine, I opted to spell out the full color space description: out = Rec709-sRGB-D65; (the order is gamut/transfer function/white point)
