As I seal up my 1910’s semi I am achieving a very pleasant warmth from a HP but now wondering how I might improve air quality ie pull in more fresh/filtered air and expel the staler/humid air while retaining the heat. Without a full house system that would be to disruptive/ expensive to retrofit?

Why shouldn't I buy one of these easy to install and cheap monoblocks just need to be connected to pipes and electricity?

Definitely agree. Have a plan, and take one step at a time. For example, we started our renovation 10 years ago by replacing our badly leaking roof, but we put in loads of insulation at same time. The roof cost @ £17k, of which the super insulation was about £1.5k (from memory).
