The state is under its greatest pressure in at least five years. I am not prepared to equate it with 2012 yet, but it is getting there. Once again people can't afford to live. Don't get distracted by Pahlavi. He's down in Potomac trying to find his Bill Kristol. He lacks organization within Iran.

That is, within Iran there is little to no appetite to restore the monarchy. You have those who see Pahlavi as a possible transitional figure - they will take anybody secular - and others who feel it would be a mistake to let him sniff power. He is a symbol. He doesn't move anybody.
